I asked a few of the Gunners Town writers to give me their Top 6 predictions for the Premier League season 18/19. Obviously the transfer window is still open and things could change – but the one thing about the Premier League is that things are ALWAYS changing:. injuries, meltdowns, surprise losses… It’s a rollercoaster ride for sure, so now is as good a time as any to throw your hat in the ring and predict the table-toppers.

Liverpool’s good season will continue but think they will get found out towards back end of season and City’s squad depth and De Bruyne returning will see them over the line.
Spurs will fall away, especially with Kane & Son missing over the next few weeks.
Truly believe we will win the race for 4th. Consistent selection and formation needed from here in. Don’t think Higuian will hit the ground running and Chelsea will still struggle to score. United’s bubble will burst when they start playing the big boys again.
But hey, what do I know?

Liverpool finally have all the pieces to win. They got the keeper and back four they needed, fantastic options in midfield and upfront. Just need to hold belief.
City will be within 2 points.
Spurs will take great belief from their last minute winner vs Fulham. Always gives you hope for the full 95 mins in other games.
United just needed happiness and freedom to attack and their momentum will continue even when they lose as the change in spirit must be huge.
Spurs will pip Arsenal to 4th as we will focus on winning the Europa, which we will win beating Real Betis in the final.
The issues with Sarri will see Chelsea fall away.
I’d be thrilled with this outcome!

Liverpool: This will finally be the year they win the PL. They’ve has good teams in PL history. But this one is holistically the best. There are few weaknesses through GK, defence, midfield and attack.
Man City: Pep may win the League Cup again but he won’t repeat his record breaking season. The CL may be on but for me Juventus is the favourite this year.
Tottenham: That lot are detestable but they are a good side. At this moment they are the best of the rest.
Arsenal: I believe we can still get fourth. Chelsea has numeous issues on and off the pitch whilst United’s post-Jose bounce won’t last forever.
Man United: Pogba has improved but they’re still reliant on de Gea and their defence is weak. Rashford is scoring goals but their poor defence may hinder them.
Chelsea: Despite being in for Higuain, Sarri has to get a new playing style. They continually pass with little end product and this was evident vs. us. Higuain alone won’t solve their issues and Sarri has to both develop a plan B and regain the trust of his players. His post-match conference after losing to us was bizarre as it was extraordinary.

I think Liverpool will win the league because they seem to have momentum with them, they don’t have to worry about extra games in the FA Cup and they seem to have the most favourable fixtures. The most important thing to me though is that in my opinion they have the best team. The only thing I think could stop Liverpool is injuries to their defence.
If Liverpool do win the league then you need to look no further than Man City to finish second. Man City’s disadvantage to me is the number of fixtures they possibly have compared to Liverpool, they are in the League Cup final and are currently still in the FA Cup.
I think (or hope) Arsenal will finish third .We’re not going to finish first or second so really my heart is ruling my head but if we can sort our defensive frailties out I can see no reason why we can’t go on another decent run.I just wish we could play every game like we played in the NLD or against Chelsea at home.
Man Utd will come fourth, they seem to have got over the turmoil of Mourinho and are currently on a decent run. It will be interesting to see; hope they cope when they lose a game A team of Pogba, De Gea ,Lukaku etc.should never have struggled like they did earlier on this season.
Chelsea will finish fifth but this could change depending on whether they get Higuain and how he performs. Things don’t seem to be right at Chelsea at the moment and watching the manager’s press conference after the Arsenal game last Saturday he seems to have lost the dressing room.
S***s will finish 6th (hopefully),the injuries are starting to stack up and they have a congested fixture list. The financial problems associated with the new system also seem to be hampering them.

Liverpool have the wind in their sails. They have come through the blip that discovering their Uninvinciblity delivered. They play high-intensity football, they never seem to give up, and – as long as Virgil van Dijk stays fit, I think they will continue being able to score more than they concede.
City should be running away with this league – but for some reason (de Bruyne?) they aren’t delivering the bang for their immense buck.
Arsenal is a curious fish right now. Capable of tremendous highs (a la NLD and Chavs) and horrendous lows (a la West Ham and Shouthampton). We also managed a 22-game unbeaten stretch – and if we can pull another one off – without too many draws – I think we could rush the Top 3.
Sp*rs will always bottle their chance at glory. It’s in their DNA. And with Kane, Alle and Son out of the picture for a month, I think they are going to fade faster than you can say St. Totteringham.
Man Utd are due a post-Ole hangover – and hopefully we can give it to them by knovking them out of the FA Cup on Friday. No reason for us not to.
I don’t feel Sarri for Chelsea. No amount of oil money can buy class. I think Hazard is off soon. The rest are a bunch of diving, cheating, murderous tw*ts (Except for Willian, whom I’d take in a heartbeat).
FINAL AGGREGATE PREDICTION:
Liverpool 6
Man City 9
Arsenal 19
Sp*rs 20
Man Utd 23
Chelsea 28
Typical Gooner optimism? Let’s hope that Emery can surprise all of us and pull this result out of his magic hat. #UTA
I was eleven-and-a-half. My family had just emigrated from Rhodesia to South Africa. All the kids on my street supported United or Liverpool, because of their Southern African goalkeeper connections: Bailey for United and Grobbelaar for ‘Pool. Problem was: I didn’t like the colour red – so when FA Cup Final day came around in 1979, I supported the team in yellow, even though their name sounded like “Asshole”. At the final whistle, I had bragging rights and a team that had won my heart.
Then I discovered that the Gunners also wore red. Luckily, I remained loyal, and the Arsenal has kicked my heart around ever since… (apart from a few lost years in the ’90s and early ’00s, when I was busy doing grownup things as a composer in Hollywood).
