The Berlin Wall to Colour TVs, a lot can happen in 55 years – But one thing NEVER does.


Since 1961 many things have happened.

1961: The Berlin Wall was built.


1962 :  Marilyn Monroe was murdered, sorry, died.

1963:  Martin Luther King Jr, had a dream.

1964:  Mohammed Ali won his first heavyweight boxing title.

1965: Malcolm X was assassinated

1966:  England won the World Cup (& Jules Rimet is still gleaming)














1967:  Colour TV first broadcast in the UK

1968:  Martin Luther King Jr assassinated

1969:  NASA faked the moon landing Smiling face with open mouth and smiling eyes(& I was born)

1970:  The Beatles broke up

1971: The microprocessor was invented (& Arsenal won the double)

1972:  The Godfather was released in cinemas

1973: The Sydney Opera House  opened and mobile phones were invented.


1974: President Richard Nixon resigns following the Watergate scandal

1975: Bill Gates and Paul Allen found Microsoft

1976: Apple Computers founded by Steve Jobs and Stephen Wozniak

1977: Star Wars ‘A New Hope’ is released in cinemas

1978: The worlds first test tube baby is born

1979: Thatcher becomes the Uk’s first female Prime Minister.

1980: John Lennon was assassinated


1981: MTV was launched

1982:  Michael Jackson released ‘Thriller’

1983: Australia becomes the first country to win yachting’s America’s Cup from the US

1984: The first Apple Mac is released


1985: USSR President Mikhail Gorbachev starts reforms in the Soviet Union

1986:  Challenger space shuttle explodes

1987: ‘Black Wednesday’ stock market crash

1988: George Bush ‘the first’ elected US President

1989:  David Hasslehoff single handedly pulls down The Berlin Wall (and Arsenal celebrate the first St Michael Thomas Day)


1990: The Gulf War starts (and seemingly never ends)

1991: Sony release the PlayStation

1992: Los Angles riots following the Rodney King bashing by the LAPD

1993:  Nokia sends the first text message

1994: The Channel Tunnel opens and Kurt Cobain commits suicide (not related)

1995: Pulp Fiction was released

1996: OJ Simpson got off on charge of murdering his wife


1997: Princess Diana was murdered, sorry, dies in a car accident in Paris (and I won The Sun Dream Team Fantasy Football League)

1998:  Viagra hits the market place (and Arsenal win their second double)

1999:  Two US students go on killing spree at Columbine High School

2000: The Y2K bug didn’t end the world and George Bus 2 elected US president

2001: 9/11

2002: Terrorist bomb kills 202 people in Bali (Sol Campbell won the double and I got married)

2003: Space shuttle Columbia explodes during take-off

2004: Facebook was launched (and The Invincibles made history) – Oh and won the league at WHL


2005: YouTube posted its first video

2006:  Skype is introduced

2007: The Iphone was released

2008: The GFC

2009: Barack Obama becomes the first black US president (and I moved to Australia)

2010: Wikileaks founder Julian Assange arrested (and Mya, my first daughter was born)


2011: Osama Bin Laden was killed

2012: Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her Diamond Jubilee

2013: Nelson Mandela died aged 95

2014: Flight MH370 disappeared

2015: 12 killed in the ‘Charlie Hebdo’ shootings in Paris (and Cora, my second daughter was born)

2016: Spurs didn’t win the league title….again !!!
