Vote – Do you still believe in Arsene?

WTTGT is asking today if you still believe that Arsène is the right man for our club. In many fans’ eyes, he is still an Arsenal manager only due to his past successes. Wenger, though, still enjoys the support of the board and a large chunk of Gooners who still remain faithful under the ‘In Arsene we Trust’ bandwagon.

His stature among Arsenal fans has further come under the spotlight with the entire Emirates booing him as he substituted the impressive Alex Chamberlain and brought on Arshavin as Arsenal searched for a winner against Man United last Sunday. Whatever may be the reasons, never in his 15 year long tenure has Wenger come under such scrutiny and how he handles this situation will probably define his managerial career.

So the question is, do you still think Wenger is the right man for Arsenal? Vote and tell us your opinion in the comments section.

I genuinely believe Arsene has gone as far as he can with our club. Our ambition now is to make a profit and finish fourth, and while many clubs would love to achieve this, we really should expect more. His most annoying trait (apart from questioning every descision that goes against us) is his refusal to admit that he has made a mistake. He will go down in Arsenal folklore but let him leave now, dignity in tact.

FORM IS TEMPORARY, CLASS IS PERMANENT………for me this quote is not only for players but for managers too

I used to stick by Wenger against all the doubters, I believed that he was saving money to invest in a new stadium and at a later date to invest back into the squad. He has proved me wrong and shown that the only investment that he cares about is the shareholders investment. He is happy to take costly risks and hope for injuries to heal themselves rather than invest the shareholders money in well needed cover for the inevitable injuries. Arsenal FC is no longer a football club, it is merely a cash cow for the owners, and Wenger has given his full support to this transition.

i think that as fans we dont know that whole story. i am 100% SURE that arsene knows that the squad lacks something. the guy has built unbeatable teams in the past.

i think its the board. the board are to blame more than wenger. wenger was there when the owners were different.
and we didnt have this problem.

in arsene [ I STILL ] trust. come on arsenal!

Do i believe that Mr Wenger can turn things around the answer is yes he has a long term plan for the club and with all projects there are going to be good times and bad we are at this time going through a bad spell but it is not terminal. My question is more what is going on at the club off the pitch something we may never know but when things go wrong is not one thing or man it is a combination of events. As for the fans if they really love this club ,is this the time to turn on it and the manager if you want this debate leave it till after the season.

I began watching football when my dad showed me an Arsenal game…. Coincidentally it was my first football game and the first game of arsenal that wenger was the manager which was a 2-0 win against blackburn on the 12th of october… But ever Since 30th september 1996, since wenger took charge and also coincidentally a decade after my birthday, 30th september 1986, I have been an Arsenal fan… The only arsenal I know is Arsenal under Arsene… And I wont give up my faith… He needs a strong management team i agree… and in my opinion thats where the board must focus… he needs a guy like david dein… IN FACT WE ALL NEED THAT FOR OUR CLUB…. I dont care even if someday we get relegated… I livin so far away never miss a game and have been watchin ever since i was 10… I WILL ALWAYS BE A GOONER… I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY YOU GUYS CANT SUPPORT OUR MAN….

He is quiet a good coach but he must change and move with time. Mancity and earlier chelsea have shown the EPL title can be bought, Where was Chelsea before Abrahmovoich? Where was Mancity before the Arabs? Americans spend responsiblly, but not Russians and Arabs. So the arsenal problem will increase if another Arab or Russian takes over another EPL club. He needs to change his recruitment policy and buy a few good palyers and the club will be back. A big good stadium will require trophies and a good team otherwise the purpose will be defeated.

I think there is something really wrong at Arsenal. Wenger has shown that he is incredibly loyal to the club and to the board. I don't think that he has the control or freedom that, say Fergie has at Man U. if he had, I think we might have been dominating the league over the last seven years. I think the board are more concerned with the dividends they will get than building on the success of the club and they haven't allowed Wenger to invest in the way that perhaps he would have liked. Let's not forget Arsene built a team of invincibles. Is it any coincidence that our profits have gone up while the trophies have dried up? I think Wenger is forced into a difficult position and he doesn't have the support he had when Dein was there. Dein was involved in some real transfer coups in his time at the club. we have been a transfer disaster since he left. Who does sort out the transfer dealngs at arsenal these days because it was never Arsene who made the biggest decisions. Dein did that, then his successor and now Gazidis. Am I wrong? is a great manager getting unfairly blamed. He sticks up for his squad as he rightly should. i wouldnt publicly slag off my employees. on the other hand I think he has too many that arent good enough that he sticks with and should get rid of and he should be ruthless like Fergie and get rid of them if they arent much use to the team any more.

Wenger will not and indeed cannot turn things around. He won't buy what's needed and hangs on to players that are not good enough, what more is there to say? You think he will mend his ways – larf.
