#BringArsenalToAustralia – Pack your bags Arsene Wenger, you’re off to Oz

Now that the “Asia
Tour” seems to be a permanent feature in the Arsenal calendar, this is my
request to get the next years jolly extended to an “Australasia Tour
2014”.

I
have discussed this topic on my Twitter feed in the past and the usual
responses were based on the population in Australia (22 million) and therefore
the lack of potential earning from such a small possible extendable fan base.

In
the past four years, three Premier League teams have made the long hop to The
Far Side to explore the possibilities/reward the fans and give them a chance to
pray to their respective Gods, in person.

Everton
made the trip in July 2010

Everton’s
marketing department thought long & hard about the title!

and
played Sydney FC, Melbourne Heart and Brisbane Roar in front of a combined
attendance of 80,000 and secured a 5-1 aggregate win in the process.

Manchester
United were in Sydney 10 days ago and I couldn’t walk round the CBD (Australian
for city centre – Actually stands
for Central Business District! – ed.) without
seeing those god awful ‘AoN’ shirts everywhere. It felt like a night out in
Essex!

Proof,
the only culture the Opera House (last weekend) was in the yoghurt

They
went onto beat the ‘A League All Stars’ 5-1, in front of 83,000 at the ANZ
Stadium

Last
week Liverpool played Melbourne Victory, winning 2-0, to a full house of 90,000
at the MCG.

No
points for missing a goal in this game

Those
sort of attendances are usually reserved for AFL games between Collingwood and
Carlton.

Arsenal
have a massive fan base in Australia and are as passionate as ‘The Home Fans’. After
all, we all get up at 3am to watch the team week in, week out!

The
fans down here would travel from all over OZ just to get a chance to see the
team and it would give a chance for the Australian Arsenal Twittersphere to all
finally meet up.

United
and Liverpool proved that big, historical clubs can pull big numbers (No, that
doesn’t include you, Ch€l$ki or Cit¥) and every Aussie needs an
English team to follow because the ‘A League’ isn’t all that!

So
Arsene Wenger, when you’re looking to book next years holiday, take a trip to
The Far Side and show England that we aren’t just Kylie Minogue loving
(although I would!), Neighbours watching, Fosters drinking, flaming galas and
we do understand what real football is!

    According to this artcile ://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/sydney-chasing-more-top-football-teams-including-chelsea-arsenal-juventus-and-barcelon-after-success-of-man-u-visit/story-fnii0fc4-1226682462487

FOOTBALL Federation Australia want the likes of "Barcelona, Juventus, Arsenal and Chelsea" next summer
I suggest to make petition or letter to Chief commercial officer Tom Fox and CEO Ivan Gazidis to make a tour to Australia a reality

Good to know Arsenal have a strong fan base down under. Love Australian women, they are so beautiful compared to any other countries on the whole. And Kylie, of course I would too
