Bacary Sagna: the War Horse

Arsenal’s Bacary Sagna is one of my favourite players in the Premier League. He never leaves anything less than 100% on the pitch and despite breaking his leg twice (!) last season he has successfully rehabilitated and made his return.

He is the best right back in the league, too. Strong in the air, brilliant tackler and always very good with his defensive positioning.

Sagna joined Arsenal in 2007, a classic Wenger ‘never heard of him’ signing, and has made 155 appearances for the club. This excellent goal line clearance on Boxing Day in 2008 against Aston Villa is just one of the many examples that has made Sagna a favourite with Gooners for so many years.

With all this quality as rightly described, I learnt he earns £40,000/week & his contract expires in 2014! Arsenal is the only club who fails to keep a world class player with poor wages, lack of motivation… We should brace up for a more ambitious club offering him trophies and of course better cash.. Sounds familiar?
